Our achievements

Solution Search Awards 2013: The 'Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change' project implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests in the coastal areas has received the 'Runner Up' award for the 'Solution Search: Adapting to a Climate Change' competition. This innovative competition explores how local communities adapt to their changing environment. More than 75 competitors from 36 countries around the world participated in the competition.

 

Equator Award 2012: The Co-Management Committee of the Chaunti Wildlife Sanctuary has won the Equator Award 2012 announced by the United Nations.

 

Wangari Mathai Award 2012: Khurshid Begum, a widow from Kerantali village in Teknaf Upazila, has won the award for her outstanding contribution to the conservation of biodiversity of Teknaf Wildlife Sanctuary in Cox's Bazar district and motivation of local people and women to stop illegal tree smuggling.

 

Earth Care Awards 2012: Fisheries and fruit farming practices have jointly won the International Earth Care Award under the Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change project implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests in coastal areas.

 

Climate Award 2012: Tangail Forest Department received the award for forest protection by rehabilitating 600 families through project implementation in Madhupur Forest.

 

UN Best Project 2012: Under the Community Based Adaptation to Climate Change project implemented in the coastal areas, the process of creating opportunities for participation and livelihood of local people through afforestation of dyke system in Char Kukri-Mukri of Bhola district has been recognized as the best project of UN.
